A Giving February

For the final week of January and into the first two weeks of February, the school took part in many events to donate as much money as possible to different charities. In total in three weeks more than $1,200 dollars plus food items were donated to charities. Eight-Hundred and Twenty dollars was donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital which was raised during Catholic Schools Week. Those activities include penny wars and a dress down on Friday to end the week. While the Super Bowl was in New Orleans, Saint Mary’s did a “Souper Bowl” where the students donated tons of soup cans and many other food items to the Secaucus Food Pantry. Before the President’s Day Break $437 was raised in a red Valentine’s Day dress down for The American Heart Association. On top of that $340 dollars was raised in a bake sale to help the Key Club and the National English Honor Society in their upcoming projects such as taking part in Read Across America happening in March. Thank you to all who donated and if you can please continue to donate to these incredible organizations. We are SM!!!
